Description:

A mouth-blown glass cake stand with a rimmed plate, thick stem and solid glass foot. A large dome with fine handle fits on top. For large cakes, individual cakes or a pile of scones.

Materials & making:
Mouth blown by skilled glassblowers to create a classic cake stand with dome. The foot of the cake stand is shaped and applied by hand to the stem while the glass is still malleable. The handle on the dome is drawn from molten glass and applied by hand to the dome. The rims of both are melted under a flame to achieve a soft rounded finish.
Care:
Handwash in warm soapy water and dry with a soft cloth.
